It depends mainly on the conditions in which your horse lives - the climate in your area, the time of year, the cleanliness of the barn, the severity of the season, and even the health of your horse - they all play a role in determining how hard it is to keep pests away. In most situations is it better to be safe and use them both, as that provides maximum protection. Instructions for Use

• Attach to horse. Clip the Horse Shield Tag directly to your horse’s halter, bridle, or even a fly mask or blanket. If your horse does not wear any gear, then braid it into their mane or tail with a braiding band. No tools, no setup — just clip and go.
• Give it time. Allow 3–4 weeks for full activation. The bioresonance technology needs consistent, continuous proximity to your horse to establish its complete protective field.
